Cadence Health announced their finalization of plans to combine health systems with Northwestern Memorial Healthcare.  The integration creates an expanded delivery health network encompassing more than 60 sites of care across metro Chicago and the north and western suburbs.  The expanded health system will now include approximately 1,600 inpatient beds, 19,500 employees, and a medical staff of 4,000 physicians.

Their agreement signifies the expansion of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare’s (NMHC) Northwestern Medicine branded health system to four Illinois hospitals.  These four hospitals include Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, Central DuPage Hospital, and Delnor Hospital.

Dean M. Harrison will remain President and CEO of the expanded NMHC health system and Mike Vivoda, Cadence Health’s President and CEO, will be the NMHC Regional President, Western Region.
