The Clinical Genome Resource and National Institute of Health have launched a new patient portal, GenomeConnect, announced Healthcare Informatics.
GenomeConnect was developed by a team of Geisinger Health System investigators and collaborators from the ClinGen project to establish an online patient community. This community would allow people who had previously had genetic testing input their test results for analysis by the ClinGen team. Additionally, this portal will allow patients who underwent genetic tests to interact with each other in a secure online community.
“By allowing patients to input additional medical information, GenomeConnect is designed to empower patients and allow them to contribute to the understanding of the human genome,” says Andrew Faucett of Geisinger Health System.
Geisinger Health System is a 1,765-bed health system based out of Danville, PA.
