2013-06-24 – Portneuf Medical Center Welcomes Daniel Ordyna as CEO
LHP Hospital Group, Inc. (“LHP”) today announced that Daniel R. Ordyna, JD, CPA will be joining Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 22th.
Mr. Ordyna most recently served as CEO for Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Oregon and during his career has served as a Chief Operating Officer, an Ambulatory Surgical Development Director and a Regional Director of Managed Care. As PMC’s CEO, Mr. Ordyna will work collaboratively with other members of the leadership team from PMC, LHP, the hospital Board of Trustees and the Joint Venture Board of Directors.
“Dan is the ideal leader to ensure we provide the best care possible while focusing on improving patient, Physician and employee satisfaction,” Paul Kappelman, LHP’s Division President commented. “Dan brings the right values and dedication to fit the culture at Portneuf Medical Center and LHP. He is very familiar with the Pocatello community, having grown up in Ogden, Utah and going to school in Idaho and Utah. We are delighted to welcome him into the LHP family.”
Kappelman added, “I want to thank and recognize the outstanding job John Abreu and Don Wadle and the Administrative team have done in the interim period as we identified the right person for the CEO position. The future looks very bright for Portneuf Medical Center with the addition of Dan Ordyna to an already outstanding management team.”
Mr. Ordyna has an impressive track record of improving patient, physician and employee satisfaction. At the same time, he has been able to improve quality scores and grow net revenues. Mr. Ordyna and his staff at Willamette Valley Medical Center attained physician satisfaction scores at 96 percent overall and 100 percent physician satisfaction with nursing care. Under his direction the hospital also attained outstanding employee satisfaction scores with job engagement scores of 94 percent. During this time, Mr. Ordyna was named a “Top Performer on Key Quality Measures” by The Joint Commission for the second year in a row with only 244 hospitals in the country receiving the distinction.

Mr. Ordyna has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho and Masters and Bachelors degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He received his associates Degree from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He and his wife, Holly, have five children: Kambree (15), McKay (13), Hunter (11), and twins, Benson and Brigham (7).
