Clay is the Chief Executive Officer at Definitive Healthcare, and he also serves on the company’s Board of Directors.
A visionary leader in AI-powered healthcare data and technology, Clay steers Definitive Healthcare’s customer-centric strategy, with a focus on driving innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. He is passionate about helping customers across the care continuum translate data into clear, decisive actions that drive their Customer 360 growth strategies and improve healthcare outcomes.
Clay has a deep conviction that AI is poised to fundamentally reshape healthcare. He is guiding Definitive Healthcare and our customers into the next era of healthcare intelligence by combining the company’s proprietary healthcare datasets, built over the past 15 years, with advanced analytics and agentic frameworks to deliver highly efficient growth and operational performance.
Before joining Definitive Healthcare, Clay served as CEO of Verato for five years, where he helped healthcare organizations get more value from their digital investments and build stronger foundations for data- and AI-driven advancements.
Additionally, over the course of his career, Clay has held senior leadership roles at a number of healthcare-focused technology companies such as CEO of Evariant, a healthcare CRM and data platform, and Chief Marketing Officer of Imprivata, a healthcare security company.
Clay has also served on the boards of Verato, Evariant, and Equinox Healthcare – all privately held. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
