FRAMINGHAM, MA – September 8, 2020 – Definitive Healthcare today announced that CEO Jason Krantz was named an Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) Entrepreneur Of The Year®  2020 New England program award finalist – one of the preeminent competitive award programs for entrepreneurs and leaders of high-growth companies. This is Krantz’ second appearance as an Entrepreneur Of The Year New England finalist.

Each year, this program celebrates the unstoppable entrepreneurs whose unbounded ambitions deliver innovation, growth and prosperity that transform our world. Nominees are evaluated based on six criteria: overcoming adversity; financial performance; societal impact and commitment to building a values-based company; innovation; and talent management. This year, entrepreneurs who have provided extraordinary support for their communities, employees and others during the COVID-19 crisis will also be recognized for their courage, resilience, and ingenuity.

Jason Krantz is founder and CEO of the nation’s fastest-growing healthcare data and analytics company – growing his Framingham, MA company, Definitive Healthcare, to nearly 500 employees and 2,500 clients, including 9 out of 10 of the U.S.’ top pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies. Jason has been the key architect and mind behind this rapidly growing company that is known for its award-winning product, culture of collaboration, and community service-oriented mindset.

It’s an incredible honor to be named a finalist for Entrepreneur of The Year for the second time – among yet another class of visionary finalists in New England. This is a true honor for any CEO, particularly given the prestigious track record of the companies and leaders that have been named finalists over the past 30 years,” said Jason Krantz, CEO of Definitive Healthcare.“But this award really goes to the Definitive Healthcare employees who bring incredible passion, creativity, and innovation to the company every single day.”

In 2011, Krantz founded his business with community-minded culture and values – launching a company-wide volunteer program, DefinitiveCares, in 2015 to create opportunities and structure for employees to be part of something larger than themselves and give back to the community. Working with local, and national, charities the DefinitiveCares program gives employees paid time off to volunteer and rewards employee participation with additional vacation days. The company has had a 100% employee volunteer rate for the past three years.

Community engagement is at the core of our company culture. During this incredibly difficult year, we shifted our DefinitiveCares efforts to provide financial support to charities. At the close of the first half of the year, we collectively donated over $306,000 to support a host of youth and education programs, civil rights and racial justice causes, as well as a mix of charities targeting food and hunger, healthcare, shelter and homeless and LGBTQ efforts. I am incredibly proud of everyone’s effort and the impact we’ve been able to make to both local and national organizations,” continued Krantz.

The company has grown organically and through four strategic acquisitions guided and vetted by Krantz: US Lifeline, Billian’s HealthDATA, the data services portion of HIMSS Analytics, and PatientFinder. For the past four consecutive years, Definitive Healthcare has been included on the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies and the Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work list.

The New England award winners will be announced during the program’s first ever virtual awards gala in early October.
