American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)

What is the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)?

The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) is an international professional association of healthcare leaders and administrators. Since its founding in 1933, the ACHE has committed to advancing leaders in the healthcare industry and promoting excellence in healthcare management.

The American College of Healthcare Executives provides its members with access to local networking, education, and career development opportunities so that members can promote cultivation of essential skills within their own organizations. Of the nearly 50,000 active members in the ACHE, most are executives at hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare organizations.

Why is the American College of Healthcare Executives important in healthcare?

The American College of Healthcare Executives is important because it encourages influential executives and change-makers throughout the healthcare industry to improve their skills in leadership, policy, and healthcare delivery.

The ACHE also offers its members the opportunity to become board-certified in healthcare management. The organization provides a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) certification to those members who have demonstrated the “expertise, experience, and commitment” to furthering their education and professional development.
