Definitive Healthcare’s SVP of Strategy, Kate Shamsuddin, Wins Outstanding Women in Business Award

Kate Shamsuddin, Definitive Healthcare’s SVP of Strategy, Recognized as Worcester Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women in Business” 

FRAMINGHAM, MA – October 28, 2019 – Definitive Healthcare, the leading provider of data, intelligence, and analytics on the healthcare provider market, today announced that Kate Shamsuddin has been recognized with the Worcester Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women in Business” award. Shamsuddin leads the company’s strategy and growth initiatives as the company’s Senior Vice President of Strategy.

Shamsuddin will be honored alongside five other winners during the awards ceremony at Tuckerman Hall in Worcester, MA on November 15, 2019. The highly regarded awards program recognizes women from the MetroWest area for their innovation, entrepreneurship, professional accomplishment, and community leadership.

Shamsuddin is a 10-year healthcare industry veteran and has been a core member of the Definitive Healthcare leadership team since joining the company in 2015. As SVP of Strategy at Definitive Healthcare, Shamsuddin has been the key architect in building a powerful product strategy for one of Massachusetts’ fastest-growing data and analytics companies. Supporting that growth, Kate has driven product innovation at Definitive Healthcare with the ideation and execution of over 20 product launches and releases, serving Fortune 100 companies across the U.S. In addition, Kate has been active in supporting three major company acquisitions: U.S. Lifeline in 2015, Billian’s HealthDATA in 2016, and the data services portion of HIMSS Analytics in 2019. She also played an integral role in securing private equity investment from Spectrum Equity in 2015 and Advent International and 22C Capital in 2019.

In addition to her responsibilities as SVP of Strategy, Shamsuddin is actively involved in the community. She was instrumental in founding the company’s DefinitiveCares program in 2015, which quickly gained traction with a 100% participation rate throughout the company in 2017 and 2018. Currently, Shamsuddin is the company’s ambassador for Boston Healthcare for the Homeless where she leads the organization of the following four events, on a quarterly and annual basis: Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Bingo, the Medicine That Matters Gala, and Definitive Healthcare’s annual holiday and Mother’s Day gift drives. Her efforts have helped the company earn a slot in this year’s Boston Business Journal’s Corporate Citizenship Awards.

Shamsuddin graduated with a Master of Science in Health Policy and Management from Harvard’s School of Public Health. Before arriving at Definitive Healthcare, Kate already had a proven track record within healthcare industry leaders (Blue Cross Blue Shield, Deloitte & Touche Healthcare Practice) and non-profit institutions focused on national health initiatives (RTI International).
