What are the top NAPBC hospitals?

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus ranks number one on our list with an NPR of $5,241,664,591. This hospital is in Ohio and is accredited by The Joint Commission. Following in second and third is the Northside Hospital Atlanta and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Each facility has an NPR of about $2.5 billion and is also accredited by The Joint Commission. All three of these centers appear on our list of the top 50 hospitals in the U.S. ranked by NPR.

The 10 largest NAPBC hospitals we track using HospitalView have a combined total NPR of about $25 billion.

Interestingly, The Joint Commission has accredited many of the breast centers that appear on our list. In fact, The Joint Commission has accredited 78% of all NAPBC hospitals we track. This association is a member of the NAPBC. Det Norske Veritas Healthcare, the other accreditation agency on our list, has accredited 11% of all NAPBC hospitals we track. While many things could explain why one agency is more popular than another, the frequency of accreditation could be a deciding factor. Det Norske Veritas Healthcare surveys accredited hospitals annually to ensure they remain in compliance with national benchmarks. The Joint Commission, however, surveys every 2-3 years.
