We continue to evolve the COVID-19 Capacity Predictor in our effort to share our expertise and guidance during this emergency.

Hosted on May 7, tune in for the replay to hear our team turn to the tool again - for predictions around the safe reopening of United States regions.

Over the course of just 15 minutes, members of our data science team interpret, pressure-test, and challenge the output of the model, examining factors like compliance with stay-at-home guidelines, re-opening decisions, use of masks and other protective gear, and the availability of testing – and the role they play in timelines.

About the Presenters:

Ryan Sowers, Vice President of Data Science 

Ryan SowersRyan is an experienced data scientist and commercial strategist. At Definitive, he blends his expertise across analytical techniques and methods with his business acumen to support clients. Commonly, this work includes market sizing and segmentation, patient and physician profiling, product launch strategy, claims data analysis, patient journey, and cost-of-care analysis. Ryan’s background includes consulting with Fortune 500 companies to apply data-driven solutions to their most significant business challenges and he holds a Master’s in Statistics from Harvard University. Ryan will manage the COVID-19 Capacity Predictor tool as it evolves.


Kathryn Clark, Data Scientist

K. Clark

Kathryn is an experienced data scientist with a powerful blend of commercial and academic backgrounds. She works closely with Definitive clients to apply analytical methods against highly complex and high-stakes business opportunities, frequently producing predictive models to forecast market behavior. Kathryn’s background includes research roles at Harvard University, throughout which she analyzed the effects of policies of all types, including the ACA, large-scale proposals in the health insurance realm, and workplace wellness programs. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from The University of Georgia. She is a currently a Masters (MS) student in Analytics at Georgia Tech.
