Which Florida hospital has the most staffed beds?

The hospital with the most staffed beds is AdventHealth Orlando with 2,247. The AdventHealth Orlando facility, formally known as Florida Hospital Orlando, is the largest medical facility in the state by both the number of beds and net patient revenue. AdventHealth Orlando is also part of the integrated delivery network (IDN) AdventHealth, the largest IDN in Florida. It also has a significantly larger square footage, which could explain why its number of staffed beds is significantly higher than any of the other members of the top 10.

Coming in second place with 1,504 staffed beds is Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Jackson Memorial Hospital is another one of the largest medical centers in the state with more than 600 doctors and nearly 1,000 full-time faculty members. It is also the main teaching facility for the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.

In third place is Tampa General Hospital with only 898 staffed beds, 600 less than the second-place spot. Although significantly smaller than the first and second place hospitals, Tampa General is ranked as the number one hospital in Tampa Bay and among the top 50 hospitals in the nation in seven specialties by U.S. News and World Report.

Where are the largest hospitals in Florida located?

The largest hospitals in Florida by number of beds are all located in major metro areas of the state with the top five all located in either Orlando, Miami or Tampa. These three cities are ranked second, third and fourth by population and total area. But interestingly, Jacksonville, the city with the largest population, does not have a single hospital in the top 10 list above. The highest-ranking hospital located in Jacksonville is UF Health Jacksonville, with only 549 staffed beds, taking the 17th spot.
