HCA Healthcare is one of the largest health systems in the country. Based in Nashville, TN, HCA Healthcare has a net patient revenue (NPR) of over $48 billion and staffs over 40,000 beds across its network. The integrated delivery network (IDN) is so large, in fact, that approximately 5% of all hospital services performed each year in the U.S. are delivered at an HCA facility.

Which HCA hospitals have the highest NPR?
Mission Hospital - Memorial Campus ranks number one on our list of the top HCA hospitals with an NPR of nearly $1.3 billion. This hospital is located in Asheville, North Carolina and has increased its NPR by 23% since its previously reported financial year. It scores within the 95th percentile on Definitive Healthcare’s financial strength dashboard seen within HospitalView, which measures a hospital’s financial performance against other hospitals tracked in the Definitive Healthcare platform.
The HCA hospital with the second highest NPR is Medical City Plano in Plano, Texas. This hospital has an NPR of $844,096,871 and has seen its NPR increase 11% since its previously reported financial year. In addition, this hospital scores within the 91st percentile on Definitive Healthcare’s financial strength dashboard.
Rounding out the top three is Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. This facility has an NPR of $799,753,918 and has seen its NPR grow 21% since its previously reported financial year. This hospital is another strong performer against its peers, as it also ranks in the 91st percentile on Definitive Healthcare’s financial strength dashboard.
How many HCA hospitals are in the United States?
Currently, HCA Healthcare operates 211 hospitals across the U.S. However, HCA Healthcare also operates hundreds of other healthcare organizations, such as ambulatory service centers, physician groups, and more.
