Which Texas hospitals have the most staffed beds?

The Texas hospital with the most staffed beds is Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio with 1,585 beds. Baptist Medical Center is a part of the Baptist Health System, the largest and most expansive health system in the state. Founded over 100 years ago, the network now includes acute care hospitals, urgent care clinics, imaging centers, and free-standing emergency departments, all of which are located in the San Antonio metro area.

In second place is Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center in Houston. This facility has 1,337 staffed beds and provides emergency and trauma care to more than 50,000 patients every year. Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center is the primary, private teaching hospital for the McGovern Medical School, a part of UTHealth Houston.

The third-place hospital is Houston Methodist Hospital with 1,000 staffed beds. Houston Methodist Hospital is the flagship hospital within the Houston Methodist health system.

Where are the largest Texas hospitals located?

Despite being one of the largest states geographically, most of Texas’ population reside in metro areas. The majority of the top 20 hospitals in Texas by number of beds are also located in major cities. Houston, the largest city in Texas by population has six of the top 20 hospitals on the list, while the second largest, San Antonio, and third largest, Dallas, have three and four hospitals respectively on the list.
