Massachusetts General Hospital has the highest bed count among hospitals in the state with 995 staffed beds. Also known as Mass General, the Boston hospital is a leading academic medical center, magnet hospital, and research facility.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital has the second highest number of beds among Massachusetts hospitals with 812 beds. Another leading academic medical center in Boston, Brigham and Women’s Hospital is part of the same integrated delivery network (IDN) as Mass General, Mass General Brigham.
