Covered Lives
What are Covered Lives?
Covered Lives is the total number of individuals enrolled in a health insurance plan and entitled to benefits with a given health insurance provider. Members, subscribers and beneficiaries of the plan are included when determining the total Covered Lives.
Why are Covered Lives important?
Covered Lives can be a useful metric by state and federal governments and other organizations to assure that commercial health insurance plans contribute to a proportionate share of payment for specific services rendered to segments of the population.
