Thank you, everyone who is joining this webinar. We will get started in just a minute or two to let folks dial in. We’ll check back in with you in about one minute.

All (00:30): right. It is the top of the hour. So we will get started. Thank you, everyone for joining today’s webinar of finding your purple squirrel and staffing. Welcome (01:00): to Definitive Healthcare. You’re going to be joined today by myself and my colleague, Will Ennis. And we’re going to talk about how to identify hard-to-find candidates in a physician shortage. So why don’t we get started?

My name is Brittany Morin-Mezzadri. I am a solutions engineer here at Definitive Healthcare. Like Will, I come from a staffing background. I spent about four years at Robert Half as a recruiter and on desk. (01:30):  For those of you who are full cycle, you’ll be very familiar with that. So I was finding candidates and filling jobs and talking to clients on rotation. So I know how difficult it is to find the right candidate at the right time in very tight markets. So that’s what we’re going to focus on today. Will, how about yourself?

William Ennis:
Thank you, Brittany. Yeah. My name’s William Ennis. I’ve been a customer success manager here at Definitive since 2019. But for my staffing background, I’ve worked as an onsite (02:00):  account manager for Randstad Sourceright that partners healthcare. And I work for Nursefinders as a recruiter in (inaudible 02:07): Healthcare Company. So I have done pretty much full breadth of recruiting background in terms of being an account manager. I’ve done recruiting and placement and onboarding.

Brittany Morin:
Excellent. So let’s get started. So what are we going to talk about today? First, I’m going to talk about why is there a physician shortage in the first place? What can we expect over the next (02:30):  four to five years from our physicians across the care continuum? And the next, Will’s going to show us how to put that into practice. A couple of things before we do get started. There is a Q&A at the end of this session. So at the bottom of your screen, or maybe at the top of the screen, you should find an option where you can write in your questions. We’ll get to as many of them as we can at the end of today’s session. Additionally, this webinar is recorded. So (03:00):  you can expect an email at the end with the recording if there’s anything that you want to come back to to review. All right. Let’s get started.

Why is there a physician shortage happening right now? In the next four years, the Bureau of Labor Statistics expects that they’re going to be about 80,000 providers leaving the workforce, specifically in primary care. So with 80,000 providers about to leave, our primary care (03:30):  setting is going to be squeezed. Our patients are going to have fewer providers to work with. Additionally, because of COVID, we found that a lot of patients delayed their care. So what could have and should have been seen in a primary care setting was now being treated and triaged at the specialist level. We’ll take a deeper dive into that, but we now have specialists who are overburdened (04:00):  with patient care that could have been intercepted at the primary care setting… .
