In second is University Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with 12,316 outpatient gastroenterology procedures—about 43% less than the top position.
Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City takes third place on our list with 11,970 procedures.

What are some of the most common GI procedures?
In 2021, the most common procedures treating GI conditions included liver elastography, esophagus motility study, GI tract imaging (via capsule endoscopy), breath hydrogen/methane test, and anorectal manometry.
Most of these procedures seek to examine otherwise inaccessible parts of the GI tract through the use of wired or wireless cameras, ultrasound, and pressure-sensitive instruments.
