Which physician group had the most prostate cancer diagnoses?

Although there are numerous ICD-10 codes related to prostate cancer, the diagnoses in the table above are all for ICD-10 code C61, malignant neoplasm of prostate. This code indicates an abnormal, cancerous mass of tissue of the prostate.

New Jersey Urology Excellence in Care had the most prostate cancer diagnoses, with 207,651 total diagnoses. Integrated Medical Professionals PLLC had the second most, with 114,673, and Chesapeake Urology had the third most, with 77,134.

What is prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells within the prostate gland. Many times, prostate cancer progresses slowly and stays isolated to the prostate. In rarer cases, prostate cancer can be more aggressive.

Prostate cancer stages range from I to IV based on the spread of cancer.

The prostate cancer survival rate for five and ten years is 98%.

Although the exact causes of prostate cancer are not clear, older age, family history, race, and obesity are all risk factors. Prostate cancer symptoms may include:

  • Unintentional weight loss
  • Bone pain
  • Trouble urinating
  • Blood in semen

Prostate cancer treatment may involve surgery to remove the prostate, heating or freezing prostate tissue, and administering chemotherapy. Physicians may also opt to use radiation for prostate cancer.

What is a physician group?

A physician group is a network of one or more doctors who practice medicine together as an organization. Physician groups can be either private practice or group practice, which can be either single or multi-specialty.
