What Alabama hospitals have the highest net patient revenue?

The Alabama hospital with the highest net patient revenue is UAB Hospital in Birmingham, with an NPR of $2.2 billion, almost twice as high as the second-place holder, Huntsville Hospital. It’s #45 on our list of U.S. hospitals by NPR.

Interestingly, Huntsville Hospital discharged more patients than UAB Hospital, even though its NPR is lower. This may mean that the procedures completed and the care services provided at UAB Hospital were more complex, equating to a higher NPR even with fewer patients.

The Alabama hospital rounding out our top three is Children’s of Alabama, with an NPR of $839 million. Even though this facility’s bed count is the second lowest on this list, the high NPR suggests that it may perform more complex procedures or have patients with longer lengths of stay.
