Which VISN has the most hospitals?

VISN 2, the VA New York/New Jersey VA Health Care Network, is the largest VISN and has 15 hospitals. VA Healthcare System Serving Ohio Indiana and Michigan (VISN 10) has 12 hospitals. VA New England Healthcare System (VISN 1) and VA Healthcare (VISN 4), with many locations in Pennsylvania, each have 11 hospitals.

These regions of the country have high populations overall so it’s likely many veterans live in the regions’ cities and states like New York as well.

What is a Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN)?

VA hospitals are divided into regional integrated delivery networks called Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs). The VA hospitals and medical centers within the regions work together to care for the needs of their veteran populations.
